TRAVEL INFORMATION

Travel to Ireland and the Conference Venue

The conference venue, UCD Campus is located a short distance south of the city centre.


Dublin Airport Dublin Airport
Dublin Airport is one of Europe’s busiest airports, with more than 55 airlines flying to over 190 destinations. Dublin Airport offers services to 29 airports in the UK and has an ever expanding European network which now covers 100 airports, the majority of which are served by low-cost budget airlines.
Dublin Airport is 18.3 km from the congress venue at University College Dublin, with taxi, bus and coach links.



Dublin Port Dublin Port
Dublin is also accessible by sea from Britain and France. The major ferry companies are Irish Ferries and StenaLine. Further information on sailings are available on their websites.
Dublin Port is 8.6 km from the congress venue at University College Dublin by taxi.




Travel to the Conference Venue and Throughout the City and Country


Aircoach
Aircoach operates a service from Dublin Airport to Leopardstown / Sandyford / Stillorgan which passes UCD. The Aircoach service operates a regular service from Dublin Airport to Dublin city centre and return.

Dublin Bus
Dublin Bus offers a high-frequency, accessible and easy to use service all over Dublin. Dublin Bus numbers 2, 3, 11, 17, 39A, 46A and 145 all provide services to the Belfield campus. The 39A terminates within the Belfield campus, and can be boarded from in the City Centre from College Street. The numbers 2, 3, 11 and 46A can be boarded at O’Connell Street. Several additional Xpresso services operate directly to campus during morning and evening peak. DART and Rail
Both the DART and mainline train provide an excellent service from many parts of Dublin to the city centre. 
UCD campus is not directly serviced by the DART/Rail service but is located a 15 minute walk or short bus journey to and from the local station.

LUAS
The LUAS tram has two lines operating in the city, the Red Line and the Green Line.  UCD campus is not directly accessible by the Luas service, as it requires the use of other services using Dublin Bus and or DART services. Hit the Road shows you how to get to or from UCD Campus using a combination of Dublin Bus, Luas and DART links. Bicycles
Dublin is one of many European cities that offer a bike sharing scheme for its many visitors and residents. You will see throughout the city centre the dbs or Dublin bikes parked throughout the capital. For information on how to hire visit Dublin Bikes These are a fun way to explore Dublin.






Taxi Service
There are a large number of taxi services available in the city centre. Taxis from the airport to the city centre/UCD are readily available outside the arrivals hall and regularly stop at UCD. A taxi from the airport to UCD should cost approximately €30. Ensure to only travel in a registered taxi- they will have their taxi license displayed on the dashboard. Taxis are readily available all over the city with listed Taxi ranks in most main tourism areas.




Car Hire
Hertz Car Hire and Avis Car Hire are both located at Dublin Airport, and have locations within Dublin city centre.
